1. I really don't like wearing any shoes other than flip flops.
2. I believe Mexican food and margaritas cure all ills, including breakups, bad days and sadness.
3. I struck out from Lubbock, Texas right after high school, chomping at the bit to get out of there, but 15 years later, that little, dusty town is one of my favorite places on Earth.
4. I'm grateful I'm getting to the point where God and I are friends.
5. I don't like it when people make cracks about the state of Mississippi, the people, the culture, etc. You only get the right to gripe about it if you've lived there!
6. I've had the same set of girlfriends since I was 12, and I love and appreciate them more now than ever.
7. I've been writing a book on and off for two years. I vow to finish it...sooner than later.
8. Although I'm in my 30s, I still secretly hope to someday be on TV...hopefully as Oprah's protege.
9. Nothing makes me happier than food and drink---making it, serving it, entertaining with it, introducing people to new versions of it, and most importantly, consuming it.
10. I've learned that one of the best things you can do is to go and get the life that's authentic to you, even if it doesn't fit our traditional notions of success, or just the preconceived notions you carried in your head for a number of years.
11. There's nothing better than a handsome, well-dressed man with a great smile and nice cologne.
12. On hard days, I look at a picture of a white English bulldog and it always makes me happy. I will have that dog one day. And I'll name him Chunk.
13. My ultimate goal is to pursue all of my creative passions, and use them to show people that despite all the nastiness around us, there is still truth, hope and beauty in humankind.
I also have a document about my strategy and life plan, if you’re interested.
